Left-wing Black Activist Acknowledges Race Attacks on Tea Party Are Bogus But ‘Effective,’ Media Ignore | NewsBusters.org

What will it take for the media to acknowledge that the Tea Party is not a racist movement, and that liberals have smeared it as such in a naked politicization of race relations? How about a lefty activist admitting just that.

UPenn professor Mary Frances Berry, a leader of the “far-left black political scene,” as NB Executive Editor Matt Sheffield wrote, penned this astonishing email to Politico, published on July 20:

Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.

Dick Armey could not have said it better.

Will Washington’s Failures Lead To Second American Revolution? – IBD – Investors.com

People are asking, “Is the government doing us more harm than good? Should we change what it does and the way it does it?”

Pruning the power of government begins with the imperial presidency.

Too many overreaching laws give the president too much discretion to make too many open-ended rules controlling too many aspects of our lives. There’s no end to the harm an out-of-control president can do.

Ariz. files appeal as sheriff launches new sweep – Yahoo! News

We need more Sheriff’s Joes.  He’s not going to let a little thing like a Clinton appointed judge stand in the way of doing what’s needed.  It’s what the majority of Americans want.

PHOENIX – The showdown over Arizona’s immigration law played out in court and on Phoenix’s sun-splashed streets on Thursday, as the state sought to reinstate key parts of the measure and angry protesters chanted that they refused to “live in fear.” Dozens were arrested.

A federal judge’s decision a day earlier to block the strict law’s most controversial elements didn’t dampen the raging immigration debate.

The judge has been threatened. Protesters rallied in cities from Los Angeles to New York. The sheriff of the state’s most populous county vowed to continue targeting illegal immigrants. Lawmakers or candidates in as many as 18 states say they still want to push similar measures.

The Amnesty Memo – The Corner – National Review Online

Barack Obama, self- appointed ruler of America may be trying an amnesty end run.  According to an internal U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services memo going the rounds of Capitol Hill and obtained by National Review, the agency is considering ways in which it could enact “meaningful immigration reform absent legislative action” — that is, without the consent of the American people through a vote in Congress.

President Obama calls African-Americans a ‘mongrel people’ – TheHill.com

President Obama waded into the national race debate in an unlikely setting and with an unusual choice of words: telling daytime talk show hosts that African-Americans are “sort of a mongrel people.”  This is a rather usual choice of words since the definition for mongrel is: a noun, a plant or animal of mixed or cross breeding.  When you take away the teleprompter, our President just can’t cut it.  I don’t think I want this guy to be making decisions for the country.  2012 can’t come soon enough for a growing number of Americans including the African-Americans that he’s just offended.

The BP Spill: Has the Damage Been Exaggerated? – TIME

Rush was right again, maintaining his record of being correct 99.56% of the time.

The Deepwater explosion was an awful tragedy for the 11 workers who died on the rig, and it’s no leak; it’s the biggest oil spill in U.S. history. It’s also inflicting serious economic and psychological damage on coastal communities that depend on tourism, fishing and drilling. But so far — while it’s important to acknowledge that the long-term potential danger is simply unknowable for an underwater event that took place just three months ago — it does not seem to be inflicting severe environmental damage. “The impacts have been much, much less than everyone feared,” says geochemist Jacqueline Michel, a federal contractor who is coordinating shoreline assessments in Louisiana.

The American Spectator : The Timeless Principles of American Prosperity

A primer on supply-side economics:

We know, based on economic experience, theory, and logic, how to create another economic boom that will last 25 years, or a generation into the future. We achieved that in America from the end of 1982 to the end of 2007, with only two, short, shallow recessions that barely interrupted sustained, robust, economic growth. But that was not the only instance of success. Several times in the last 100 years, whenever the nation’s economic policies adhered to the timeless principles of economic growth and prosperity, our economy has boomed. When it has departed from those policies, it has fallen into stagnation, or worse.

FOXBusiness.com – SEC Says New FinReg Law Exempts It From Public Disclosure

Our freedoms continue to erode under this administration.  I find it amazing what’s going on right under our noses and the general public is largely unaware!  Under a little-noticed provision of the recently passed financial-reform legislation, the Securities and Exchange Commission no longer has to comply with virtually all requests for information releases from the public, including those filed under the Freedom of Information Act.

» The Sherrod Affair: The Obama Gang Can’t Shoot Straight – Big Government

Let’s NOT have a conversation about race. The calls for Obama to now make the Shirley Sherrod debacle a teachable moment fills me with panic that the president will retreat to the Oval Office and craft a soaring piece of oratory, instead of getting on with the humdrum business of firing the stumbling, bumbling members of his own team who, as the saying goes, can’t find their ass with either hand.

» Politico Hatchet Job on Breitbart an Old Fashioned Pile-On – Big Journalism

While Hagey and Vogel’s article is ostensibly aimed at proving that Breitbart jumped the gun by posting a video of Sherrod that was “misleadingly edited,” this seems but a subterfuge by which they might not only lampoon Breitbart and Daily Caller publisher Tucker Carlson, but keep attention away from the fact that Breitbart’s goal in focusing on the Sherrod story was correct: inasmuch as it fits into his larger goal of highlighting the ongoing racial politicis of the Obama administration and the NAACP.
