In Rush to Assist Solyndra, U.S. Missed Warning Signs – NYTimes.com

By ERIC LIPTON and JOHN M. BRODER

WASHINGTON — President Obama’s visit to the Solyndra solar panel factory in California last year was choreographed down to the last detail — the 20-by-30-foot American flags, the corporate banners hung just so, the special lighting, even coffee and doughnuts for the Secret Service detail.

“It’s here that companies like Solyndra are leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future,” the president declared in May 2010 to the assembled workers and executives. The start-up business had received a $535 million federal loan guarantee, offered in part to reassert American dominance in solar technology while generating thousands of jobs.

But behind the pomp and pageantry, Solyndra was rotting inside, hemorrhaging cash so quickly that within weeks of Mr. Obama’s visit, the company canceled plans to offer shares to the public. Barely a year later, Solyndra has become one of the administration’s most costly fumbles after the company declared bankruptcy, laid off 1,100 workers and was raided by F.B.I. agents seeking evidence of possible fraud.

Solyndra’s two top officers are to appear Friday before a House investigative committee where, their lawyers say, they will assert their Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

The government’s backing of Solyndra, which could cost taxpayers more than a half-billion dollars, came as the politically well-connected business began an extensive lobbying campaign that appears to have blinded government officials to the company’s financial condition and the risks of the investment, according to a review of government documents and interviews with administration officials and industry analysts.

Steve Chapman: Why Obama should withdraw – chicagotribune.com

Steve Chapman

When Ronald Reagan ran for re-election in 1984, his slogan was “Morning in America.” For Barack Obama, it’s more like midnight in a coal mine.

The sputtering economy is about to stall out, unemployment is high, his jobs program may not pass, foreclosures are rampant and the poor guy can’t even sneak a cigarette.

His approval rating is at its lowest level ever. His party just lost two House elections — one in a district it had held for 88 consecutive years. He’s staked his future on the jobs bill, which most Americans don’t think would work.

The vultures are starting to circle. Former White House spokesman Bill Burton said that unless Obama can rally the Democratic base, which is disillusioned with him, “it’s going to be impossible for the president to win.” Democratic consultant James Carville had one word of advice for Obama: “Panic.”

But there is good news for the president. I checked the Constitution, and he is under no compulsion to run for re-election. He can scrap the campaign, bag the fundraising calls and never watch another Republican debate as long as he’s willing to vacate the premises by Jan. 20, 2013.

Quote of the Day: George Will on Obama

September 18, 2011 3:26 P.M.

By Robert Costa

“He went to Massachusetts to campaign against Scott Brown; Brown is now a senator. He went to New Jersey to campaign against Chris Christie, who’s now governor. He went to Virginia to campaign against Bob McDonnell, who’s now governor. He campaigned for the health-care plan extensively, it became less popular. He campaigned in 2010 for the Democrats, they were shellacked. He began, in a sense, his presidency flying to Copenhagen to get Chicago the Olympics; Chicago was the first city eliminated. There is no evidence that the man has the rhetorical powers that he is relying on.” — Columnist George F. Will, speaking on ABC’s This Week.

Obama: I reversed recession until ‘bad luck’ hit | Campaign 2012

The Federal Election Committee refused to stop, or prosecute, that credit card donations were flying in from the Middle east in amounts just under $200.

The Black Panthers interfering with elections in Philly were not prosecuted as that stinking Eric Holder said he could not prosecute his people.

Even the LA Times was prescient in defining that Obama could not be touched as he was black when they penned, “Barack, the Magic Negro”: http://tinyurl.com/2bkefq

It’s a great thing for a red-blooded American who is a decedent of slaves to become President. Unfortunately, Obama is not that man, has led a life of luxury from sources still unknown, and has had involvement with subversive groups his entire life. Those groups and the very wealthy have brought him to power and he has exceeded their wildest desires. The rest of us are getting a depression.

A great read is by former IMF president Simon Johnson (2007-2008) in The Atlantic Monthly (online) entitled “The Quiet Coup”. In May 2009 he urged America to not do what third world nations do and build an oligarchy as they will control the government when all is said and done. Obama is just one of many puppets; raised from birth to ascend to positions for others to profit. An informative book is “Dupes: How America’s Enemies Have Used Progressives Against Us For 100 Years”. It appears that they managed to get one to the highest office in the land. Obama should be impeached for many violations of his oath of office and breach of the law. John Locke would be asking us if we need the chains to rattle before we realize we are all slaves. Anarchy is no form of government, so we should do this now under the law to remain a nation of laws. If he is given 4 more years I fear we will be past the ability to restore this great nation through the ballot box. And if so, all is lost.

Do not waste your time trying to convert liberals. That is their religion. Few of the brainwashed will ever be awakened enough to find that they do not have minds of their own. Speak to independents and get them out to vote, for at the ballot box is where they need to be defeated. Then, with the republicans unfortunately being the only viable choice, we need to run good men and woman against those who have locked themselves into their do-nothing jobs and obtain a Congress that works for the people. We have 2 years to change this nation. Then all is lost if this despicable Liar-in-Chief manages to retain power and feed his oligarchs as the rest of America lines the food stamps rolls.
